A quiet, honest question

Do I have a problem with porn?

There's no shame in asking. It isn't measured by hours or frequency, it's measured by the cost. Tap each sign that feels true, and we'll read the result together.

I've tried to cut back or stop, but I keep coming back.

I need more, or more extreme content, to feel the same release.

It's taking time I meant for sleep, work, or the people I love.

I hide it, minimize it, or feel shame afterward.

It's affecting my sex life, my intimacy, or my presence with a partner.

I reach for it to numb stress, boredom, loneliness, or anxiety.

I feel like the choice isn't fully mine anymore.

I promise myself "this is the last time," and it isn't.

If several of these feel true, it doesn't mean you're broken, and it doesn't mean you'll feel this way forever. It means your brain has learned a pattern, and patterns can be retrained.

01 / THE GOAL

We don't chase abstinence. We build integrity.

Recovery is measured in honesty and self-connection, not perfect streaks. The goal is a life where porn is no longer needed to cope, numb, or escape.

02 / RELAPSE

Relapse isn't failure. It's data.

Most people slip. Each cycle reveals the unmet need underneath the urge. We treat it as information to learn from, with self-compassion, not shame.

03 / CONTROL

Your partner isn't your probation officer.

No spyware. No filters. No detective work. Healing comes from honesty offered freely, before it's asked for, not from being monitored.

Why willpower keeps losing

It's not a character flaw. It's your reward system.

Today's endless, on-demand porn affects the brain's reward system in a way real life simply doesn't. Understanding that is the first step to changing it.

Why it pulls you

The chase is the high, not the climax.

The pull isn't the finish, it's the chase. The searching and the constant novelty are what the brain starts to crave, and what keeps you coming back.

It takes more over time

The screen rewires what arouses you.

Over time it takes more to feel the same thing. Screen-based porn shifts what arouses you in a way real life doesn't.

Numbed intimacy

Real connection starts to feel "boring."

Real connection can start to feel flat. That's not a flaw in you or your partner, it's how the brain has been trained.

The healing loop

The brain rebalances when you stop feeding it.

The hardest part passes in the first few days. Once the overstimulation eases, the brain rebalances, and most people feel clearer and calmer within a couple of weeks.

This isn't about willpower.
It's about rewiring.

The recovery model

Three phases, from impulse to identity.

Power Over Porn© moves you through a clear, step-by-step progression built on proven psychology. You don't white-knuckle your way through. You rebuild, one phase at a time.

PHASE 01

Stabilization & Self-Regulation

Find your footing, ease the urges, and start feeling steady in your body and mind again.

PHASE 02

Realignment & Behavioral Shift

Build a life that genuinely competes with the screen, instead of just resisting it.

PHASE 03

Integration & Identity Formation

Move forward as a whole person, no longer defined by the struggle.

For partners

The porn is the symptom.
The lie is the trauma.

You didn't cause this. You couldn't have prevented it. And you don't have to police it.

Betrayal fractures the reality you thought you were living in, and that wound is real, whether or not your partner chooses to change. Our partner work is trauma-informed and led by a clinician, not a compliance monitor. It's about reclaiming your intuition, setting boundaries that protect without controlling, and reconnecting with yourself.

Through closed partner groups, couples sessions, and partner-facing tools, you'll do your own healing, on your own terms.

Who leads the program

Dr. Raychel Powers, Psy.D.

Power Over Porn© was built by a licensed clinical psychologist who was tired of watching shame-and-surveillance approaches fail the people they were supposed to help. The program is grounded in real science and evidence-based practice, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, Marlatt's Relapse Prevention model, and the Transtheoretical Model of Change.

The approach is direct, brain-based, and sex-positive. Sexuality isn't the problem to be eliminated, the compulsive, screen-based loop is the thing we treat. The goal is a healthy, values-based, integrated sexual life that no longer needs a screen to come alive.

Common questions

Straight answers, no judgment.

Do I have to give up sex, or porn, forever?
No. The goal isn't lifelong abstinence from pleasure. Sex is healthy; the compulsive, screen-based delivery system is the issue. After an initial reset period, we work toward a mindful, values-based sexuality, solo and partnered, that doesn't depend on a screen.
What happens if I relapse?
You'll have a clear, shame-free protocol for exactly that moment. Relapse is treated as data, not failure, we debrief what you were feeling, what you needed, and what micro-skill to try next. Honesty is the measure of progress, not a perfect streak.
Is this a religious or faith-based program?
No. Power Over Porn© is a clinical, science-based program led by a licensed psychologist. It works alongside any faith, recovery community, or support group you value, but it doesn't require one.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Therapy is confidential and protected within the limits of the law. You'll review exactly how confidentiality works, and its limits, during intake before any treatment begins.
Is the program only for men?
Anyone struggling with compulsive porn use is welcome, and partners are fully supported through groups, couples work, and partner-facing resources. Care is tailored to you, not a stereotype.
Can I do this entirely online?
Yes. The downloadable course is fully self-paced, and therapy is available online across the U.S. through PsyPact certification.
